In the darkest hour, salvation is at hand.
Tuesday, July 27th, 2004 09:52 amI've got the flu from Hell.
- constantly running nose
- sore throat
- coughing fits that leave me feeling like I'm going to throw up
- headache that on it's own would still stop me from going to work.
- several blood noses
- slight fever
- eye strain
Needless to say, I'm not at work today. On a good note, I tried a different type of headache tablet today, and I pronounce them awesome. The eyestrain is controlled to the extent that it's not hurting my eyes to be here on my computer. The headache has gone from big stabbing pain to mild ache that's there but not a _huge_ issue. I've still got the throat, nose, blood nose, and coughing fits. I can manage them since I'm home and don't have to worry about the headache.
I have this thing against "medicine", the sort of medicine that for one reasn or another doesn't seem natural to me. Headache tablets fall into that category. Previously, I had only ever tried Panadol. Panadol doesn't work for me. Last time I used Panadol was when I had a horrible headache and I was delivering pizzas. It left me very sleepy behind the wheel of my car without affecting my headache at all. This experience strengthened my convictions against headache tablets. This morning I was in such pain that I decided I'd give them a go again. Not Panadol though. Z went and got me something, which turned out to be Panafen IB. Panafen IB has become my salvation.
