Monday, March 19th, 2007 10:21 amWell, flew out on the plane at 10am on Saturday (17th March). Final destination Bangkok with a changeover in Phuket - same plane but some people got off, others got on, and everyone had to get off while they cleaned the plane. We sat in the transit lounge about 30 min and then trooped onto the plane again. It got very hot and we could smell this odd smell. Finally we were all told to get off again cos there was a problem with the air system! Was odd, since it was the same plane that carried us just over 6 hours from Perth to Phuket just before. So we waited and waited and waited, and finally they had the problem fixed. We ended up getting to Bangkok 3 hours later than we should have.
We've been staying in a hotel because it's so cheap - $25-$28 per night! Food has been fabulous too. Went to the Bangkok weekend markets yesterday, and was blown away. Think of the E-shed markets in Fremantle, and then expand it by 3-4 times. Maybe 5 times. There were undercover shed bits, and there were street markets in between the shed bits. We all had a wonderful massage. I had a foot massage that took 45min, and they were very thorough, went up the calves and everything. Cost 300 baht, which is roughly $12!
Anyway, We are going to another place about 60km outside of Bangkok and will stay there a night, and then at the stroke of midnight on tuesday we shall fly out to Rome, where things will not be so cheap :)
Love,
Silverai
