(no subject)
Thursday, September 7th, 2006 08:26 amPart-time work is going good, feeling a lot better than I have in a long while.
Now we can dispense with that subject, and go onto others.
Steve Irwin. I'm sure everyone has heard by now and thought, "WTF, stringray?" Well, in the spirit of tastless but funny humour, Something Awful forums had a thread titled "MS Paint Steve Irwin's alternative deaths." There were some good ones, crap ones, and the people jumping on the bandwagon on how distasteful it is, despite these humour people politely staying out of the thread about Steve Irwin being awesome.
Humour pic thread here.
I thought I'd share this pic, as it made my sides split open.

So a friend of mine recently went to Sydney. While he was there he visited a book store and asked me what book I wanted. Well, there was only one book I wanted, that I had been hanging out for, and that had only just come out July/August. Phantom, by Terry Goodkind. Ninth in the series, and there will be only ten books in total. Terry Goodkind is also finishing with a trilogy, which makes this ninth book smacked bang in the middle.
My thoughts about this book: "OMG YAY! So good. Oh yeah. MMMMmmmmmm. Awesome.....what? What do you meant that's the end, gimme the next book RIGHT NOW!" *flail*
So yes, I enjoyed it immensly, thank you SO MUCH for the book.
I have been organising my Dad's big 65th birthday lunch. It's been slow going because Mum is involved a bit - she had been planning to get all her cousins together for her birthday last year, but it never happened so she latched onto my idea this year. So, many months after trying to get her to do the ONE thing that I needed before moving ahead with my plans, I cut her out of the loop. Two days later she had what I needed *sigh* so it's still getting organised with her. The birthday lunch is slated for mid-October. Idea began in March-May, somewhere there. Wanted to have sent out invites by June/July. Got the one thing I needed....beginning of September. Frustration indeed. Need to contact everyone on the list really soon, because one month notice is fine for friends in Perth for a mini-gathering, but it's a bit short notice for family living in the country (who you hardly ever see) for a formal lunch.
In other news, I have not planned my usual Halloween/dress-up party this year, and I only just noticed. What do you guys think, should I do one, or does someone else wish to take the reins this year? Gotta get the SBC girls to meet again!
