Epic Update

Dyed my hair again on Saturday and left it in for longer so the colour took hold better. Turned out to be a deep chestnut brown colour which has red highlights in the sun. I like it! I was alarmed at how dry my hair was afterwards, not so much because of the dry but because it was tangling even while I was brushing it! It's managable again now.

Been more girly girly lately, I seem to be wearing makeup fairly often - mascara, eyeliner, and eyeshadow. Wearing skirts a bit more too, since I discovered a wonderful razer and so have been shaving most days. It's the Venus Breeze made by Gillette, which comes with gel bars built in. Usually the rigamarole of putting on shaving gel and then maneuvering so that the gel doesn't get washed off prematurely is just so annoying that I forego it, but with this razer it's just wet it and use it, no fuss, zip zip and done. Leaves my skin feeling soft too, which is just lovely.

At work, there's usually only me and one other person here at the shop, 'cept he started holidays on Monday. So I was here by myself yesterday and it will be that way until the Myaree store closes on Christmas eve afternoon. I will have someone come down from Osborne Park every day between 11am and 2pm, which means I can grab lunch and that sort of thing. This place is rather large and lonely by oneself, which is strange because I didn't really chat that much to the other guy even when he was here. I guess sometimes having another presence there is enough. The Osborne Park store is actually staying open over the Christmas break this year, I'll be working there on the two Saturdays, and Friday 2nd as well. Enough to keep my hand in, while still getting a decent break.

Speaking of work, I feel a little less like glorified sales with a key and more like a manager ever since about a week ago when I got woken up two nights in a row in the wee hours of the morning because of alarm related issues. Ask me the story sometime if you're interested, I've told the story enough times to enough people that I can't be stuffed typing it.

So, it's Christmas time - that time of the year when everyone's calendar is filled up with parties, wind-ups and shopping expeditions, not to mention their normal weekly commitments. I am no exception! Been a busy little munchkin. I bought tickets to the Nutcracker Ballet a few weeks ago on impulse, looking forward to seeing it this Friday. I saw it once with Mum when I was still in primary school, it's a very pretty ballet with gorgeous music. I met up with a friend on Saturday who didn't know what the Nutcracker was and didn't even recognise the Sugar Plum Fairy song when I sang it. I was quite amazed.

My car got broken into a few weeks ago. It's the best possible break-in that could have occured. No glass was broken, they just screwdrivered the passenger's side lock and then levered the door open. I was worried about my car for a while because it seemed like I couldn't lock the door, but two days later it became apparent that I could lock and unlock it after all. The one thing I can't do that I could do before is use my keys on the outside, but I didn't do that very often anyway, so I don't feel like I lost out. The only things that were stolen during the break-in was stuff that wasn't too important, no cash or ID or anything like that. All in all, a very pleasing outcome to a usually very horrible incident.

Thinking of my birthday, I think I may do a "Crazy Hat Picnic in the Park" for it, a 5:30-6pm starting time dinner affair where everyone brings a plate of food and wears a crazy hat. Likely to be at a location near the river near Bassendean. Day most likely going to be Saturday 24th January, which is my birthday. I like the idea of it. Any thoughts?
