Life Update
Friday, October 31st, 2008 05:31 pmWork is currently sapping my motivation. It's quiet for long times which shuts my brain down so that when there actually is something to do, like a quote or an email, the "do nothing" habit kicks in instead and it takes me ages. Also, quite often there's lots of no customers for ages, then two or three people will come in at once and require tricky multitasking, then it will be really quiet again. Myaree has its plus sides, for instance I know where all the stock is and exactly what was said to a customer because I was the one who said it. It has downsides too, like I can't just decide I want a day off for a trivial reason, since there's not three other people ready to fill the gap. There are people who would do if there was an emergency though - a necessary thing!
I'm looking forward to my goth party. I have my outfit all planned and have the music ready to go. I'm thinking I might do a prize for the best dressed, as voted for by party attendees, with myself not being a candidate. I'd also like to do some fun things which involve prizes, like games and that, but I'm not sure what to do that would fit the theme. Two weeks to go :)
I feel slightly disappointed I'm not doing anything for Halloween tonight, which means I won't be wearing a costume. I'd think about wearing one anyway, but it seems pointless for the one or two hours I'll spend sitting on the computer before I go to bed. But hey, goth party in two weeks!
I've been playing Lego Batman lately. It's quite entertaining, a worthy successor to the Lego Star Wars 1 & 2. It was a relief, since Lego Indiana Jones was no fun at all.
I've been thinking about dying my hair, but suspect I won't. For one thing I don't know what colour would suit me, for another it's an expense I can do without, and finally the upkeep of the roots growing out. That's a triple whammy of indecision, money, and time/covenience. The other thing that puts me off is that several different hairdressers have told me that even if I just do a semi-permanent colour, my hair won't go back to it's normal colour and will still need to grow out again. I am curious though. Hm.
Zig has really been getting into squash lately. He's been playing on Tuesdays with Friend 1 for about a year, and starting playing Friend 2 on Thursdays a few months back. Now he's just added Friend 3 on alternate Mondays, and is thinking about getting Friend 3 to play on Fridays as well. I still get to see Zig though, Friend 3 play times means Zig gets home about the same time as me, and Friend 2 play time is later at night so we can eat dinner together first. Tuesdays I have band anyway, so no big if Zig is out. Zig's mother disapproves of squash, because it increases the heart rate too quickly she says. Zig likes it though.
