Guitar impulsiveness
Saturday, October 11th, 2008 04:06 pmI almost at work this morning when I noticed a massive amount of people hanging around outside the music store on the corner. I-have-my-ticket-and-want-to-get-into-a-gig amounts of people. Some people were even playing hacky sack. Curious, I looked over my shoulder while turning the corner and saw a sign indicating a massive sale with very decent discounts. "Hm," I thought to myself, "I should check it out after work."
4 hours went by in which some computer related products were ordered and sold, with part of my brain whispering to me that maybe the music store might have a cheap acoustic guitar. I was just going to check it out though, no plan or hurry. I used to have a guitar years ago, but that was the family one and my brother now has it instead.
Upon locating the acoustic guitar section shortly after stepping into the music store, I poked around and strummed a little. My desire to own one again grew quite a bit stronger in the span of not much time. The sales assistant helped me pick between the few cheapies available. I definitely needed his help, as he could play quite easily, while my long nails hampered my fingering to the extent I found it hard to get a clear sound.
Now? Well now I own a nice cheap guitar with a sound full of body. $199, marked down from $299. Grabbed a discounted to $30 bag and a discounted to $12 guitar stand while I was at it. My plans this afternoon include getting rid of the nails on my left hand, and acquainting myself with my new Lovely. A name shall have to be discovered for her too at some point :)
