It's quiet at work, and I'm tired with a full stomach and hot rosehip and hibiscus tea. Must distract myself so that I don't count the minutes. The only thing I have to fear now is my constant spelling mistakes with my lack of awakeness.

My eldest brother is back from the Solomon Islands at last. We have heard of no immediate plans for the Army Reserve to ship him off again, which is good. I went over for an evening on Wednesday and chatted about a bunch of stuff after the kids had gone to bed. Meanwhile, my other brother jumped on a plane last Saturday and flew off for a holiday in Thailand, overlapping so that he didn't get to see the eldest before he left. I believe he is away until the end of September. Holidays everywhere in this last year, what with my own and many people I know jetsetting around the place.

A friend who this year went over to Sydney for good came back for a visit this week, so I got to catch up with her. We had lots of tea and gossip.

Speaking of tea, I've been drinking a lot of green and herbal tea lately. I don't usually drink a lot of tea because I like it weaker than the average person and therefore use one teabag for two cups. There's all the fuss of storing the teabag until the second cup and it puts me off the whole business. Last time I got a craving for tea, I remembered that I had a teapot mum had given me a few months before. Made a pot for myself and haven't looked back. A month later and I've had anything between 1-4 pots of teas each day, a pot equalling 750mL. Thus has my liquid consumption in a day drastically risen and I'm sure my health is appreciating it. The usual mouthful or two of water just wasn't cutting it. I went to the shops and spoilt myself with a number of flavours which is also helping wonderfully. Anybody want to visit for a cup of tea and a gossip sometime?

I've re-discovered two childhood loves. Fairytales and colouring in. I bought a few fairy colouring books (it is hard to find good colouring books, especially fairy ones - they more often suck than not, and that's when you can find them) and some coloured pencils and have been filling my time contentedly. I've taken my pencils and books over and spent happy hours colouring in with my nieces - great quality time and fun too! Meanwhile, I remembered a book of princess fairy tales I had when I was little. I dug it out and have been taking it with me and reading out a story to my nieces to the enjoyment of all. Read 3 out of 8 so far. They are more obscure ones than the standard western ones that Disney has covered. Maybe some day I'll type them out and share a link with eveyone, because they really are fantastic. Even my bro enjoyed the one I read out on Wednesday in his presence. I also found a website with stories, of which I've ready only a couple so far but I hold the opinion they are interesting. The website is here.

Well, I think I'll go read stories now. Tata!
