Engagement Party: Conclusion

Last night's party went really well, I am well please with how it turned out to the point of being proud of our efforts. Out of the 50 people I invited, most showed up. The crowd was good. Alas, but I was expecting some who had RSVPed but didn't show or call. Had a few who did call to cancel, including one with a sick baby and a couple who said that their neighbour's house was burning! We had just the right amount of meat on the spit to go around to everyone without any left over. The free beer went down well, we estimate at least half the brew has gone. Also only one piece of cake left out of the three that I ordered and the one brought by someone else. Finally went to bed after 2am - which was earlier than I was expecting but the ending of the party happened naturally and my body probably appreciated the sleep by then. Wandered around this morning and threw out all the cans, cups, and plates so it looks semi-neat already which is a plus. Someone even left their guitar behind, so I got to play it this morning - yay! 'Cept I couldn't play one song because my nails got in the way of pressing the strings down with my fingers spread so wide. It was nice to play a guitar again.

Was considering maybe not doing my traditional Halloween party this year because of this big bash, but a friend made me think twice about breaking the tradition. Will probably end up hosting one anyway - and will call people this time to ensure a better attendance than last year.
