DVD consumerism
Friday, February 25th, 2005 08:15 pmI just signed up to Ezy DVD and spent $110.
Eep.
...but movie goodness!!!! There was a deal where you buy two for $15 each and you can choose a third for free. I chose Conan and Ever After (yay!), and then for my third I chose a movie I've never watched before, based mostly on a plug by
sonnlich. The Pirate Movie. The rest of the decision was based on Ezy DVD's blurb *g*. Buying anything like that without prior experience of it is completely out of character for me, but it was free and I look forward to the campiness.
And $40 of that is season 6 of MASH for Zig, although he doesn't know it yet. He got seasons 1-5 for Christmas, so 6 is good.
Tomorrow I plan to go to Kmart and buy $60 more. I'll go from owning 4 DVDs to owning .....well lots more than 4. I mean, sure I have folders full of discs with movies on them, but it's just not as good as actually owning the movie on video or DVD. Usually I cannot justify buying DVDs, but when the price is right and the will is especially weak....consumerism will out.
