First day of fulltime work
Tuesday, May 4th, 2004 08:31 pmPart of the problem, as Shaw (the boss) himself said, is that I need to be trained but he doesn't have the time to do it. I just have to pick up stuff quickly when he shows me, and then do it for ages until he can get to me again. Hope I get to learn more stuff soon, cos otherwise I'm going to go out of my brain with boredom and that headache you get from studying and staring at the screen too long.
Anyway, just as I was starting to despair because I had 30 mins to go and only the website to read since I ran out of dictionary, a guy came up next to me and started organising the deliveries to go out. Shaw decided I should watch him and learn about it. Yay! I was curious anyway, and it was good to be able to abandon boredom and learn something interesting. Mark (the guy) was nice and friendly. I get to learn more about the deliveries for the first hour tomorrow too, until Mark has to do sales and I have to go back to phones and study until Shaw gets time to show me something else. The word "study" is a bit of a joke, since I've already absorbed all I can. I'm just wasting my time staring at the site now. If I could only do something else between calls.
Oh well. I won't be complaining when I get my first pay, I'm sure :D Yay fulltime work pay! The pay is $24,500 pa, which works out to be in the region of $400 a week after tax. Plus all the perks of fulltime work like holidays, sick leave, and superannuation. Mmmm, more money than I've ever been paid before.
