Rambling Weekend

I know I'm overdue for an update, but now I'm sitting here with keyboard at hand, I have no idea what I have to say. So please excuse my dribbling for the rest of this entry.

Troy came round and visited Z on Saturday, and only left 5 min before I had to leave for work. Not much stuff happened on that day therefore. Got home from work, walked into loungeroom. Walked back out, pinched myself, and walked back in. The loungeroom had been cleaned! Those of you who have visited me before would know that it's habitual state is one of extreme untidyness. My shock at finding it spotlessly clean, yes spotless not just shove-junk-together-into-piles clean, was tremendous.

So, I'd had an idea of treating Z while I was driving in my car that night. Clean loungeroom made me think "I am _so_ spoiling him now". I told him his Tuesday was mine, and he made his usual face he makes when I'm about to use up his time. heh. He asked what for, and I said I was taking him to the movies. Pirates of the Caribean was excellent btw. Depp must have had a lot of fun playing Jack Sparrow, and turned out an excellent character.

Sunday was rainy. Not only that, but our power went out. Z and I ended up playing cards. Now, usually cards with Z ends up with him in a crap mood. He hates playing games with no skill involved, and other card games usually turn sour for one reason or another. It thus came as a pleasant surprise when we found a game that we happily played for quite a while. It came about because my bro and Z tried to play Canasta the previous weekend with one deck of cards and couldn't remember the rules properly, therefore creating some kind of rummy offshoot. We refined the rules as we went too, such as only allowing groups, since I kicked too much ass when allowed straights.

Then I convinced Z he wanted to see movies that night instead, since with the power out there wasn't much else to do. The power came back on, but we went anyway. Afterwards, I bought him dinner, and then stopped of at the servo on the way home. Z was pretty happy with me having bought him a movie _and_ dinner. After food and a bit more cards, I pulled out the box of Cadbury Roses I got at the servo. Z was very nicely pleased, and thoroughly spoiled. Now, there may be some of you who think this wasn't much, but I hardly ever do stuff like that for Z, so it was huge by comparison. Usually it's him doing stuff for me, for one reason or another. His turn, I figured. Every so often he said "you're nice", so I had to keep saying "no, you're nice, that's why I spoiled you". Later on...."you're nice"..."no, you're ni........" etc

Mostly a good weekend for me then :)

Not long until League of Extraordinary Gentlemen comes out too. Sean Connery *squee*
